For schools · Years 7–12 · Delivered in your school

The jobs are changing. Show them what's actually coming.

Six sessions on the work your students are heading into — which roles are being rebuilt, which skills hold their value, and how to build proof they can actually show someone. Not career-day platitudes, and not a coding club. The honest picture, from people doing the work.

The honest position

Careers advice is being given by adults describing a job market that is quietly disappearing.

Your students will start their first proper jobs around 2030. Most of the advice they get is a decade out of date, and the rest is either "learn to code" or vague reassurance. Neither tells them what's actually happening to the work. This course does — including the parts that are uncomfortable — and then puts the tools in their hands so the future is something they can act on rather than worry about.

The programme

Six sessions. One piece of real evidence at the end.

01
What's actually changing
A clear-eyed tour of what AI does to real jobs — the tasks it absorbs, the ones it can't, and why "it'll take all the jobs" and "nothing will change" are both wrong.
02
The skills that hold value
Judgement, verification, taste, knowing what to ask for. We name the durable skills specifically, and show what each looks like in practice rather than on a poster.
03
Inside a real job, right now
We take an actual role — design, law, trades, health, media — and open it up. What the work looked like three years ago, what it looks like today, what a graduate is expected to do.
04
Working with the tools
Hands-on. Not prompt tricks — how to direct these tools properly, catch them being wrong, and use them like a professional would rather than like a shortcut.
05
Build the evidence
They make something real, aimed at a field they're curious about. A tool, a piece of work, a small product. The point is that it exists and it's theirs.
06
Say it out loud
They present what they built and what they learned — to the room, and to parents where the format allows. Being able to explain your own work is the skill nobody schedules.
What they walk out with

Three things. None of them a certificate.

01

A realistic map of the work

They can describe what's changing in a field they care about, and why — without panic and without hand-waving.

02

Something they built

A real piece of work, made with the tools professionals are using now. Evidence, not a participation certificate.

03

The habit of checking

The verification instinct — the single most valuable thing anyone can carry into a workplace full of confident, occasionally wrong machines.

How it runs

Delivered in your school, for a whole cohort.

01

On your timetable

The six sessions run for a whole cohort, on your timetable and your devices. Students are grouped by stage.

02

Mapped to careers

Maps cleanly to career education and future-of-work outcomes. Run it as a careers elective, or inside your existing careers programme.

03

Quoted per cohort

Scoped to your cohort on one 30-minute call. A one-page quote within 48 hours of the call.

Not sure yet? The two-hour session is the short version of this: one sitting, same framing.

Fit check

Built for the teenager who keeps getting vague answers.

This is for them if

  • They're asking what to do after school and getting advice that feels dated
  • They're not sure they want to code, but they know something is shifting
  • They already use AI and nobody has ever shown them how to use it properly
  • They'd rather have something they built than another certificate

Not for them if

  • You want a pure coding course — this is careers and judgement, with tools attached
  • You want reassurance that nothing is changing; we won't give that honestly
  • They're under 12 — the material assumes upper-primary reading and up
Straight answers

What schools ask first.

Isn't this just a coding course with a new name?

No. They build something, but building is the vehicle. The subject is the work: what's changing in real jobs, which skills stay valuable, and how to demonstrate them. They rarely write code.

Will this scare them?

We're honest about what's changing, and deliberately not dramatic about it. Every session ends with something they can do rather than something to worry about. Fear is a terrible teacher and an even worse sales tactic.

How is it different from the two-hour session?

The two-hour session is the short version: same framing, one sitting, they build one thing. This goes six sessions deep: real career analysis, a proper build, and a presentation at the end. Many step up to this after the two-hour session.

Does it fit our careers programme?

That's what it's designed for. It maps to career education and future-of-work outcomes rather than sitting awkwardly inside Digital Technologies. It's designed to run as a careers elective, or fit inside your existing careers programme.

Who teaches it?

Delivered by our team of experienced educators. When a student asks what a job actually looks like now, the answer comes from people who've done the work themselves.

What does it cost?

School delivery is scoped per cohort and quoted after one 30-minute call. You get a one-page quote within 48 hours.

The Future of Work

They're going to work in a world we can't fully describe yet.

What we can do is show them what's already true, hand them the tools, and make sure they've built something real before anyone asks them to.
